This name has its origins in the Roman period and it is derived from the milestones found along a road. First mentioned in a document dated 1197, Trentino belonged to the province of Sestola until 1658, when it was given to Carlo Francesco Pio of Savoy as feudal estate.
This village was once home to the old Trentino Castle, and today it still has an oratory and the remains of the old law courts.
