Posta su un rilievo (m. 1049) del crinale che divide la Val Rossenna dalla Valle del Dragone, fu uno dei più importanti fortilizi del Comitato di Gombola. Della grandiosa mole castellana, costruita nei secc. XII-XIII, sono rimasti pochi ruderi in un ambiente altamente evocativo.

                                                    Rancidoro tower

Situated on a mountain (1049m) in the range which divides the Rossenna Valley from the Dragone Valley, the tower was one of the "Gombola Committee's" most important fortresses. Built in the 12 and 13^th centuries, today only a few ruins of the castle's great bulk remain, as part of the beautiful surrounding scenery.
